Old Chardonnay vines (around 45 years planted on the red and grey marls of Montigny-lès-Arsures, a terroir known for depth and natural tension. The parcel is farmed organically and without herbicides. The wine is pressed directly into large foudres, left untopped through winter, and raised slowly with a touch of controlled oxidation. The result is a dry, complex and saline Chardonnay with a touch of oxidation on the nose and a long mineral finish. It will age comfortably for 10–15 years, gaining spice, clarity, and length as it evolves.

Chardonnay planted on the domaine’s marnes blanches, a soil Michel often describes as difficult to work but capable of producing beautifully expressive wines. The 2023 shows fine, bright acidity with a juicy, almost crystalline profile. It will age gracefully for 8–12 years, gaining depth and a gentle, buttery-saline complexity over time.

Michel planted the parcel himself in the early 1990s on an old hay meadow, on land that has never seen chemicals. It sits on warm, draining soils of gravel and calcareous scree. After pressing, the wine is moved into large wooden casks. 2023 is one of our favourite vintages so far! Easy drinking, it will drink beautifully young but will also age 6–10 years, developing more savoury notes and a firmer Jura backbone.
