Rosso Castagno is primarily Sangiovese with a small portion of Montepulciano from vineyards near Lake Bolsena in Lazio. The wine undergoes skin maceration before aging in traditional chestnut barrels. Black cherry, sloe, and herbal notes combine with spice and firm acidity, resulting in a grounded and warming red that reflects both the grape and the volcanic landscape.
