A natural blend of mostly Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin, together with Chardonnay, Grolleau Gris and Cabernet Franc from Anjou. It’s made in buried Georgian qvevri amphorae and labelled Vin de France. 2024 was a wet year across the Loire. Houas sprayed no copper and no sulphur, and brought in a tenth of a normal crop; the grapes that remained were of high quality. His qvevri work as vases communicants: each holds its own wine, and Zali draws on all of them. Fermented on their own yeasts, bottled unfined, unfiltered and with no added sulphites. 9.5% alcohol. Superb tannic and acidic structure. As always with Houas, this is one of a kind wine.
