Jean Veut Amphore

This expressive Gamay is grown on clay-limestone soils in the sunny Pierres Dorées (“Golden Stones”) region of Saint-Germain. Maxime sources fruit from grower Fred Gery, who incorporates agroforestry practices into his vineyards. A 20-day carbonic maceration, followed by 9 months in amphora, creates a vibrant, structured wine with no sulphur added. The warm and sunny 2022 vintage produced riper, fleshier wines, yet Maxime achieved excellent balance and acidity, ensuring aging potential. Pure black currant flavors, nuanced herbal notes, and fine-grained texture shine through. Ideal with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, or hearty pasta dishes.
