Terroir very close to Chèrouche. A blend of Gamay, Diolinoir and Pinot Noir from a full south-facing parcel at 800m of altitude, planted almost straight on the rocks. Soils are a mix of moraine, schist and a little limestone, what the old growers here call terre béton. In 2024 there was almost no loss on this parcel thanks to the aeration, ventilation and full exposure.
Lucas has farmed the parcel since 2023. The Diolinoir, a crossing between Rouge de Diolly, an indigenous Valais grape, and Pinot Noir, brings more expressive fruit, but together with the Gamay and Pinot Noir the wine stays balanced. Aromatically it is a bit more open, but the terroir still comes through clearly. On the palate it is delicate, very fine, and lighter, more aérien than Chèrouche. The fruit stays in check in favour of the more mineral side of the wine. Aged in 228L tonneaux.
