Sourced from the clay and limestone soils of the Eichberg Grand Cru, also on steep slopes near Husseren-les-Chateaux and at 400m elevation, this wine enjoys a fresh profile despite its south-easterly aspect. The grapes were macerated in whole bunches for 2 weeks and then aged for 9 months in old barriques. It presents a lovely combination of aromatic spice and an almost tea-like quality on the palate, with vibrant acidity and fine tannins, making it one of the most complex wines we’ve tasted from this variety.
