Pure Riesling from Pierre’s parcels around Husseren-les-Châteaux, the highest village on the Alsace wine route, including vines on the Eichberg Grand Cru. The year 2024 was cold and wet with heavy mildew pressure. To prevent this, Pierre carefully disbudded vines in spring, to keep the air flowing and the fruit clean. Pierre calls it his best vintage so far. Each parcel was pressed separately on his new vertical press, with less skin contact than previous years, giving clearer juice and more purity. Aged in barrel, and only a touch of sulphur (1g/hl) at bottling. The wine is mineral and reductive, with a silky, profound length. A precise Riesling worth ageing.
