Bianco “G” 2023 is made from organically grown Grecanico and Carricante, sourced from several small high-altitude vineyards on Etna’s north and northeast face in the contrade of Nave and Tartaraci, between 900 and 1100 meters above sea level. The vines average 60 to 70 years of age and are planted on dark grey sandy basalt soils strewn with volcanic rock. The Grecanico, including a large proportion of Grecanico Dorato, was macerated on the skins for four days before fermenting in small glass vessels, while the Carricante was fermented in chestnut barrel. Pale golden yellow in color, the wine shows aromas of yellow peach, apple, and pear, with a flavorsome palate, bright acidity, and a mineral, textural structure.
