A thirst-quenching red made from 100% Pineau d’Aunis, sourced from century-old vines planted on sandy alluvial soils. Grapes were hand-harvested in small crates, undergoing semi-carbonic maceration in whole clusters in sealed tanks to enhance aromatics. Post-fermentation, the wine was lightly pressed and aged on fine lees before bottling in June to preserve its vitality. Brambly dark fruits, raspberry, white pepper, and spice dominate, with a lively texture and minerality, still light and evolving. A incredible 11% for a wine from one of the warmest vintages in recent year. One to age! No sulphur is added.
