Sfuso di Anna 2022 is a field blend made from 85% old bush-vine Nerello Mascalese, with the balance made up of Nerello Cappuccio, Grenache, and a small proportion of indigenous white varieties. The fruit was harvested by hand, with most of the blend fermented spontaneously in the estate’s ancient palmento, alongside vinification in qvevri and an open wooden fermenter, before ageing in large chestnut and old oak barrels on fine lees. Bottled without fining or filtration and with minimal sulfur, it is a light, juicy Etna red with notes of dark cherry, plum, spice, and a floral lift, supported by savory tannins and clear volcanic mineral character.
